The fund aims to provide capital growth through investment in equity and fixed income securities of a universe of emerging markets. It is concentrated into six core markets, but avoids diversifying into undesirable emerging markets. It has unique features of growth and defense. In times of market volatility, the fund can have up to 60% in global bonds and cash if necessary in order to protect against returns on the downside.

SISF Hong Kong Equity

The fund is managed by a team of 13 investment professionals located in Mainland China, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Singapore, who on average have 14 years of investment experience. It is denominated in Hong Kong dollars, which mitigate the impact of currency fluctuations for Hong Kong dollar based investors.

SAS Gold and Metals Fund

The fund can invest in more than 20 types of metals. It has no benchmark constraints and has the flexibility to capture opportunities in precious metals and industrial metals based on market conditions.

SISF Global Energy

The fund invests in energy stocks with large, medium and small capitalisations, whether old or new, without index constraints. It focuses on 20-30 energy stocks offering significant upside potential. The fund has a structural bias to exploration and production and energy services companies, which tend in aggregate to offer greater upside potential over the investment cycle.

SISF China Opportunities

The fund invests in companies from around the world that have major operations in China. There is no upper limit on investments in A-Shares, B-Shares and H-Shares that allows flexibility in capturing opportunities in Chinese equity markets. The fund adapts a "bottom up" approach in selecting companies that have positive earnings outlooks and strong shareholder returns. The fund has recently launched a new Hong Kong Dollar share in November 2009.

US/Hong Kong dollar-based investors are exposed to currency fluctuations where funds are denominated in currencies other than US/Hong Kong dollars.
